When measuring a knife edge, French edge, topstitched or button tufted outdoor cushion you want to measure from seam to seam on the edges.

It is important to know that top stitching and buttons draws the cushion in. If you measure in the topstitched or button area of the cushion the measurement will most likely be less than the actual seam to seam measurement. For example: The cushion seam to seam measures 48” x 22” but if measured in the tufted portion your cushion could be 47” x 21”.
